The Colonel Fawcett
There are so many good places to eat in Camden Town, but let’s start with traditional food, cooked with excellence.
This historical gastropub has mastered the art of the classic British menu, all within a comfortable vintage lounge atmosphere. And so it should be:
The Colonel Fawcett was established in the 1800s as a ‘house of ill repute,’ frequented, until the day of his death, by a certain non-fictional colonel. Famously known as one of the best places to eat in Camden Town.

Here you’ll find traditional British fare, with a twist. Ever since its humble beginnings in 2011 as a stall in Dublin, Hook has been developing their ‘new school’ take on fish and chips, exploring the use of alternative batters and spices – call it fusion fish and chips!
Their delicious tempura batter, panko breadcrumbs, and seaweed salted chips are but a glimpse of the wonders inside.
Even better, all of their ingredients are sourced sustainably.

Band of Burgers
Band of Burgers is a restaurant in Camden Town where you’ll find every burger you can possibly imagine, beetroot patties and coffee brisket.
What’s more, this is the only restaurant in London to cook its burgers on its own charcoal grill, giving their meats a unique smoky flair.
Perhaps most excitingly, there’s the option to create your own burger! Continuing the DIY theme, BoB is BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze that is, not Bring Your Own Burgers…).

The Blues Kitchen
Yes, this one is a bit more chainy. Are we ashamed to include it in this list? Not at all.
This Camden Town restaurant is the master of the dirty and delicious, the people at The Blues Kitchen have perfected the art of smoky American BBQ cooking, making this venue an excellent location for some meaty casual dining – but there are also some killer veggie options.
Incidentally, they also have London’s most extensive bourbon collection. Good to know!

Self-proclaimed plant pioneers, Purezza serves up nothing but vegan pizza.
Established in 2015, it’s the first vegan pizzeria in the UK, and everything, from the dough to the cheese (yes, they have perfected the art of vegan mozzarella), is developed with love in their cruelty-free laboratory.
The owners themselves are passionate Italians basing their work on traditional family recipes, so the tastiness and quality of the results were always more or less guaranteed.
There are also many gluten-free options and, very importantly, an Oreo pizza.
